About Marianna S. Klebanov
Marianna S. Klebanov, J.D., is an attorney, writer, and policy advocate practicing in the field of child welfare, parenting advocacy, and mental health.
Klebanov is the coauthor of The Critical Role of Parenting in Human Development published by Routledge in 2014. She is an attorney with a specialty in matters relating to child welfare, family violence, and mental health, and serves on the Children’s Rights Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association. She works on the Practitioner Panel for the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, writes on issues relating to parenting, child abuse prevention, and brain development, and serves on the Child Abuse Prevention Council in California.
Klebanov spent seven years on the Board of Directors of Family and Children Services, overseeing the board’s relationship with the organization’s mental health and counseling programs. In addition, she served as Chair and legislative liaison to the Board of Supervisors for the Juvenile Justice Commission. Klebanov graduated with Honors from Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in linguistics and earned her JD from the University of California at Hastings, where she was a journal editor.
